Project Description

ECB was the NMTC consultant for building improvements and new construction to help expand RYSE's services for underserved communities and youth in Richmond.

The new RYSE Commons will include approximately 6,600 SF of renovation of existing facilities, 11,000 SF of new construction and 19,000 SF of outdoor space with a basketball court, garden and landscaped space.

RYSE and ECB worked closely with the partner organizations to help ensure the improvements and expansion will adequately meet their organizational goals to serve a larger community with divergent needs.

The project will provide the partner organizations with more space to bring onsite mobile units to offer medical and psychological services to its visitors. An increase in meeting and private spaces will allow for more engagement and mentoring. Along with its planned increase of learning technologies, RYSE will be able to expand its career pathway and leadership program.

By leveraging a combination of loans, grants, capital campaign funds and New Market Tax Credits, RYSE will be able to finance its expansion to offer more programs for its nearby communities.
