The Jewish Community Center of the East Bay hired ECB as the Owner’s Representative and Development Manager to orchestrate all aspects of the redevelopment of the existing Nestle/Dreyer’s campus in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland to create a new community hub for Jewish life in the East Bay.
Purchased in 2020, the 3-acre campus will centralize resources and amplify the collective impact of the Jewish Community Center and other community-serving, Jewish nonprofits.
The existing buildings on the site will be repurposed for future uses including a new preschool serving 120 children, café, commercial teaching kitchen, assembly spaces, after-school and day camp facilities, and nonprofit office space for community organizations.
Site and landscape improvements on the campus will include a meadow, courtyard, ball court, pergola, deck, parking lots, and other improvements.
ECB is responsible for managing all aspects of the development including operating budgets, entitlements, community outreach, design management, building permits, and construction management.
