Management Team

Tom Sargent is a real estate developer and city planner with more than 22 years experience specializing in urban infill development, adaptive re-use historic projects, alternative housing and mixed-use projects. Tom is recognized regionally as a leader in urban redevelopment, converting underutilized real estate assets into innovative, community-oriented projects.

Tom has served as principal-in-charge for projects ranging from the conversion of a See's Candy factory into artist live-work space, to the adaptive reuse of 24 historic buildings at Fort Baker, Cavallo Point-The Lodge at the Golden Gate, into a 150-room retreat and conference center. Tom was also responsible for the development of the Thoreau Center for Sustainability at the Presidio.

From 1990-92, Tom served as principal of the ROMA Design Group, providing development planning, programming, economic and market expertise. From 1983-89, Tom was a regional vice president of Halcyon Ltd., a national real estate development consulting firm specializing in urban mixed use and redevelopment projects.

From 1979-1982, Tom served as a project director in New York City for Project for Public Spaces, a firm specializing in the planning, design and management of urban plazas, streets and commercial districts. He is a co-founder and served for five years as president of the board of directors of the San Francisco Public Market Collaborative, which operates the highly successful Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Tom served as a trustee for Saint Mark's School in San Rafael and the Urban School in San Francisco, chairing building committees responsible for significant school expansion projects.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1974 and graduated from the Conway School of Landscape Design in 1979.
